TRAINING FOR STRESS MANAGEMENT- KAYSERİ PRISON STAFF

A training seminar called “Coping with Stress and Stress Management” was held for the employees of Kayseri Penal Institution within the scope of the protocol made with the Kayseri Chief Public Prosecutor's Office on the campus of our university. The seminar was given by Ceyda Cihan Aydoğdu, Research Assistant and Clinical Psychologist.

The seminar was held as part of the 100th Anniversary of the Turkish Republic Events of the Ministry of Justice. Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor Ömer Demirgöz underlined the importance of the seminer for to provide significant benefits to the prison staff.

Demirgöz thanked the prison staff for their participation in the seminar and said, "You are our most valuable employees." Expressing that prison staff work environments are stressful and they know this very well, Demirgöz also thanked AGU for its contributions.

Research Assistant and Clinical Psychologist Ceyda Cihan Aydoğdu explained the methods of combating stress and practiced breathing and meditation exercises with participants. She also gave information on communication skills, which is one of the effective methods in reducing stress.

In addition to the staff of Kayseri Penitentiary Institution, Deputy Chief Public Prosecutor Ömer Demirgöz, Prosecutor in Charge of Penal Institutions Ahmet İhsan Koç, AGU Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Erk Hacıhasanoğlu and the managers of the prisons in Kayseri also attended.
